Detailed instructions for using the March Muse filter:

New to this tech? Read this.

March Muse is what's called an Instagram "effect," meaning it's an add-on to Instagram, a filter that transforms your appearance when you look into the camera.

To use it, make sure you have the most recent version of Instagram installed on your phone.

The March Muse effect uses AI face recognition to find your hair and tint it one of two purple shades.
* Press the "1" button for the bright hue
* Press the "2" button for lavender

Effects work in both Instagram Stories or an Instagram Live. That means you can film a video or go live with a new hue in your 'do!

Effects live in Instagram's Effects Gallery, and can be found by searching the gallery or clicking this link .
